Canberra Creatives are Creative Workshops for people who are interested in art, design, craft and creativity.
The skill levels of these people range from expert artisans, through to never having picked up a paintbrush, sponge dabber, or jar of mod podge in their lives. I’m sure you fit in there somewhere!
The aim of the Canberra Creatives Workshops is to bring various crafts, skills and techniques to you and your friends. Each project is instructed in detail and in a fun environment, so even the least “creative” person will enjoy the workshop from start to finish.
In teaching these workshops I have found that the so-called “non creatives” among us often come up with some of the most imaginative designs. Teaching you new methods, giving you the tools to create, and letting you run with it, is so incredibly satisfying to me.
Who is Mikaela?
I am Mikaela, your local craft enabler, designer, teacher, and all round creative lady.
Some people say I look too young to be a teacher! Especially without any makeup on ;)
Don’t worry, I am old enough to have completed Highschool and College, been to Uni for 5 years, taught in College for 4.5 years, worked as a University Tutor, bought a house, gotten married, had a baby, and to have run my own 3 micro business’ for several years.
In the past I have worked as a photographer, covering local events, working with local models and fashion designers, and developing my own art portfolio.
Currently I teach Graphic Design at a College in Canberra, offer Creative Workshops, freelance in Graphic Design and design my jewellery and accessories range to sell at markets and in boutique stores. I also blog now and again!
Feel free to drop me a line any time, email@example.com.
